I want to talk about being crazy.
I get really motivated with this topic, because I feel that so much of our upbringing can knock out the crazy spirit and creativity that we all have, which gives us access to our genius.
It wasn’t that long ago, I was at a football game.
I was enjoying the game and a young child (he must have been all but 9 years of age) stood up in front of my section of the crowd, and he was doing his best to motivate the crowd to cheer more. We were all enjoying the spirit and following his instructions.
He was doing a great job, and all of a sudden his mother came flying down and smacked him. I was near enough to over hear her say ‘stop doing that – you are making a fool of yourself and also us’
I remember getting a sharp pain in my stomach and I started realising that this is where our ability to be ourselves begins to change. Moments like this, is where children start getting the fear of being a little different. This is what causes most to fall back into the status quo.
Even though it’s what I do today, It wasn’t that long ago that I had an extremely strong fear of speaking in front of a group of people. Watching this child’s parent communicate with him, helped me see where my fear developed.
And yet – anyone that ever does something amazing with their life, often has some craziness going on. Why?
Because they truly believe that they can make a difference. They truly believe that they can get out there and have a go.
And you know what? – even if you had an experience like the child I explained above – YOU CAN LEARN AND GET HELP AND REMOVE THESE STUPID FEARS.
I was reading an interview from Steve Jobs the other day – and I thought I would share this part of it with you:
When you grow up you tend to get told the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money.
That’s a very limited life.
Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is – everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.
The minute that you understand that you can poke life and actually something will, you know if you push in, something will pop out the other side, that you can change it, you can mold it.
That’s maybe the most important thing. It’s to shake off this erroneous notion that life is there and you’re just gonna live in it, versus embrace it, change it, improve it, make your mark upon it.
I think that’s very important and however you learn that, once you learn it, you’ll want to change life and make it better, cause it’s kind of messed up, in a lot of ways.
Once you learn that, you’ll never be the same again
Did you know that APPLE has a mission to serve the genius’ of the world? This is what drove Steve Jobs.
It’s true – this is one of their major advertising campaigns.
Please take the time to watch this as it’s an amazing ad campaign AND also an amazing message.
And so this week – we celebrate anyone that is a little crazy. I truly respect you and I expect anyone big enough, to step up, face a fear and make a difference.

Share with us any of your crazy ideas. We’d love to hear them.
Wear funny hats, sing in the street, wear whatever you fancy, be generous to the extreme
Awesome post Andrew!
I’m not sure what crazy idea’s I have to share here on your Blog but I do know one thing! I am one of those crazies, I do believe I am making a massive change in my personal life as well as others I connect with.
Each new day, each new step I take, I am closer to my true self and the genius within. I plan to keep on this journey to become the best and the most “craziest” version of my self and tap into all those inspired actions that not only make my life a joy but a joy to all who surround me!
Thanks again for the reminder about that amazing little genius that lives within all of us.
Have a great day!!
Awesome is the word!
Thanks Paul. It makes life a lot more fun as well. And it also helps you realise just how much fear people have when it comes to being a little bit crazy!!!
I just bought a motorhome 5 days ago and I want to travel the US visiting friends & family across the US. I want to drive to the ocean and smell the salt air. It is at the ocean’s shore that I feel most alive. I was put down by a friend who thought I was “crazy” for wanting to buy an RV, and I began to question myself. Thank you, Andrew, for giving my spiritual compass affirmation . Laurie
Well Andrew, here’s cheers to you for helping get the message out there, you crazy bastard, (said in a friendly way with a slap on the shoulder)
I AM a crazy one. I believe that spirit, guides people to me just before they are going to pass into the next realm- even if they aren’t aware this may be going to happen. I help them receive closure on life dramas so they can laugh,(or cry) as their soul desires and I ‘become’ with them. It always feels as though we are one and the same person. We are in ‘love’. Swimming in that which they are about to experience. It is a truly beautiful experience. …..having said that, it is also very difficult. This is something I cannot train or pass to others unless they are open at the time to having a brief glimpse into that moment. Anyway, I just thought you may like to hear of this type of craziness. I love it and look forward to the day I join them all and we can live that experience as one large family
thank you for sharing this Pauline. I love what you do, and I personally i don’t find it crazy at all.
